Staff and distributors have continuously worked together to strengthen the market’s role. In response to increased imports under FTA agreements, the market supports local food distribution and contributes to the regional economy while fulfilling the responsibilities of a public wholesale market.

The market promotes fair trade through open auction systems for all agricultural products, helping increase farmers’ income. It aims to grow together with farmers while providing reliable products to consumers. The site covers 65,825 pyeong, with buildings totaling 14,021 pyeong, and parking space for approximately 260 vehicles.

To ensure food safety, the market conducts regular pesticide residue inspections: rapid tests twice a week (12 items) and detailed tests once a week (6 items). Any non-compliant products are fully discarded. Producers of such goods are banned from shipping to public wholesale markets nationwide for one month and may face legal action if violations continue. Detailed inspections are conducted in cooperation with the Gangneung Institute of Health & Environment.
